Asus Announces Taichi Dual Display Tablet

Sunday 10 June 2012

Asus has just announced the Taichi Tablet / laptop hybrid at Computex 2012. Its comes with a choice of dual displays, either in the for of dual 13.3 inch or 11.6 inch Super IPS+ full HD displays and its looks like a regular notebook when opened, processing is provided by a Core i7 Intel Ivy Bridge processor, runs Windows 8, 4GB of RAM, SSD storage, two USB 3.0 ports, Micro HDMI, mini DisplayPort, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and “HD” front-facing camera.

Apparently, the manufacturer is trying to be in the trend as far as new devices are concerned knowing that later this year, Microsoft’s Windows 8 OS will surely become a hit and Asus simply wants to be among the manufacturers which will offer it.

Pricing have not been confirmed. With a high-end device featuring the latest OS in the market plus the two full HD displays, it is safe to assume that this notebook will not be marketed below $800. It could even go as far as $1500 considering its specs, design and reputation.
