Dell's smallest version of Android Tablets, the Streak 5, is a blend of a Tablet PC and a smartphone. This Tablet has a wide range of features typical to PCs, along with smooth multi-tasking and so on.
The Dell Streak 5 works on the Android v2.2 (Froyo) Operating System and is propelled by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Processor, speeding its functioning. The Streak 5 comes with Dell's own Stage User Interface, for enhanced visual experience.

Key Features

  • 5-inch LCD Capacitive Multi Touchscreen
  • 1 GHz Scorpion Processor
  • 5 MP Primary Camera
  • 0.3 MP Secondary Camera

The Streak 5 is loaded with a front-facing VGA digital camera and a rear 5 megapixel digital camera with Dual LED flash. The image results are detailed, and images can be transferred onto an HDTV (requires an HDMI port). The Streak also excels at macro shots, a rarity in smartphone cameras.

Design

The Tablet sports a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) LCD widescreen display that is specially designed for web access, videos and movies on the move. The Tablet is protected by a reinforced damage-resistant Gorilla Glass, and the device fits in your palm, making it easily portable. The sleek bar form factor of the Tablet, made of hard plastic and metal back, gives a sense of durability.

Storage and Battery

The Dell Streak 5 comes with 2 GB of internal storage space which can be extended up to 32 GB. The swappable microSD memory cards allow virtually limitless storage for movies, music and pictures. This Dell Tablet works on a 1530 mAh battery that gives you an average runtime of 10 to 12 hours.

Connectivity and Features

This 5-inch Android Tablet allows full-fledged multitasking and can handle multiple apps without lagging in speed. The 3G mobile broadband, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity let you stay connected wherever you are.

The Streak's UI supports the drag-and-drop functionality for almost all apps. The Google Voice Search support works with all commonly used apps (including Maps, IMDb and YouTube). All you have to do is hit the microphone button and speak out the search term and it returns relevant results. The Streak helps you find the quickest route with real-time maps from the integrated Assisted-GPS and e-compass functionality.

Additional Features

The Dell tablet supports enhanced Text-to-voice direction, so you can keep your eyes on the road, while Google Maps live traffic functionality helps you steer clear of the red zones (requires 3G connection). And unlike dedicated GPS devices, the Streak spares you the hassle of having to upgrade your map every 2-3 months.

The 3G-enabled Dell Streak is integrated with social networking widgets, and gives you access to tons of apps within the Android Market. The Tablet supports Facebook and Flickr, letting you upload photos and videos instantly.

The Dell Streak 5 manages to combine a smartphone, a fully featured camera, a Satellite Navigation device, and a web-savvy Tablet into a sleek fit-in-the pocket package.
